Hi,
My name is Renee, I arrived to the US one year ago seeking Asylum based on Domestic violence , religion , and social group. I am Palestinian, born in Saudi Arabia, and has a travel document from Iraq (which I inherited frommy father). I was married to a Tunisian man (and still married to him legally) who was abusing me physically, emotionally, and mentally in the country that has no women rights what so ever which is "Saudi Arabia". I tried to get a divorce more than 5 times in that country but no luck, finally, after 11 years of being married to the devil I made my decision of running away from him and from that country which I hated every minute in my life. The country who didn't save me from him when he tried to kill me twice, the people who watch your husband beat you and they say what a Bitch she probably did something horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a big law firm representing me for my case here with the BCIS office (immigartion office) , BUT my lawyer told me and several other lawyers too that we have a very little chance of winning our case with regards to the domestic violence issue as John Ashcroft, acting BCIS president is a conservative man who is against gender related asylum cases. Since I came to the US I left ISLAM & refuse to be called a Muslim anymore, I am now agnostic trying to research a lot and study a lot about different religions. As you know in Saudi Arabia we didn't have access to anything in the outside world, I am now free in all aspects of life, free to talk, free to say whatever I want, free not to worship MY HUSBAND or anyone else!!!!
I went to another lawyer the other day and he told me, even seeking Asylum based on religion might not work too, I am crying day and night, I am so scared that when the time comes for my interview with the BCIS office (Immigration) which should happen in the next two years that they will not be convinced with my case and they will send me back!!! the lawyer said that the (immigration office) will fight me back with regards to the religion issue and they will say that it's OK to be a Muslim but not to practice Islam in the Muslim world, but if I am going to be deported they will send me back to Iraq, because I am not allowed to enter Palestine, and my residence in Saudi Arabia is expired long time ago. I have my uncles and family members living in Iraq, and they will for sure kill me if they hear that I left Islam and adding to this I will be harmed by the muslim extremest when I speek freely about what I think. I have two children to raise, one of them is American. My boys ages are 11 and 5 and I don't have any child support from my husband, off course because he doesn't't know where I am , other wise he will come after me to kill me and take my children away.
I am miserable and I need your help in giving me info about people who applied for Asylum based on religion before (in the US).
I thank you on behalf of all those people who finally can open their eyes to the truth.
